It has been an exciting new year for the Caterpillars so far! We have some new friends and families and we would like to welcome them all to our room. We would also like to thank all the parents who have been involved in our learning.
In the last couple of months we have been participating in new activities related to our learning. We have been looking at road safety, healthy eating, the solar system, and animals from the beach and zoo. These activities are based on what the children have been doing the previous week and weekend.
Each day we have group discussions about the topic we have been looking at. We have talked about traffic lights and what the colours mean, how we have to hold a grown ups hand when crossing the road. For the healthy eating topic we have had some special visitors come in and tell us that fruits and vegetables can give us special powers to be strong and have good bones.
We have been doing lots of craft activities based on these topics to help expand the children’s learning. But as well as doing these activities the Caterpillars have been focusing on their colours, counting and being able to recognise and identify commonplace objects. We have been able to incorporate this learning through craft, songs and group time discussions.
We are so very happy and proud at how well the Caterpillars are learning and we’re excited for the future learning we will do.
Thank you,
Miss Sarah
