Welcome to the first Widgets blog post.
Everything you read in this blog has been customised for you, our valued families. Not only do we plan to share with you what our wonderful children have been up to lately, but also important updates, recipes and parental information. You’ll learn a lot more about our centre and the way we do things to optimise your child’s development.
Education is a high priority for us at Widgets, and so far this year, our Caterpillars and Butterflies have been very busy learning about nature, road safety, colours and shapes, recycling, and much more. We’ve been lucky to have Gabriella’s mum, Shireen, join us twice to make craft with the children. We thank her again for her time and efforts that have meant so much to the children. We also remind all parents that they are welcome at any time to show the children a special skill or hidden talent they may have- be it another language, singing, dancing, or arts and crafts. Please speak to your child’s Room Leader to organise a suitable time.
We have also had two dieticians from Riz Health at Campbelltown Hospital, Michael Riskallah and Sarah Ghebranious, come teach our children about the ‘superpowers’ and nutrients of healthy foods and the effects of junk food. The children thoroughly enjoyed touching and feeling the fruits and vegetables, as well as learning why lollies and chips should be ‘sometimes’ foods. Thank you to the parents who attended- it was entertaining and educational for all involved!
A thank you to all parents who have brought in cakes and special treats for their child to share with their friends on their birthday- the children have loved seeing what amazing and tasty cake will come in next, and the birthday boy/girl has always had an extra special day celebrating with their friends.
We are very excited about the next few months at Widgets! There will be some painting being done, giving our beloved centre a refreshed look, and a few other changes you may notice along the way.
