We’re excited to unveil our new entrance way this month! Our children were so amazed by the transformation when they first saw it. ‘Mummy, it looks so neat!’ and ‘wow, wow, wow’ were just a couple of the phrases heard several times the morning after the painting. We’d like to extend our appreciation to our entire Widgets family in being supportive and patient throughout the process. Children’s pockets are back up on the wall in the entrance way, so you can easily access reminders, notes, and receipts.
The mornings are getting colder and so are the nights, but thankfully we can still enjoy the sunshine throughout the day. Most parents have been packing extra jumpers and other clothing items in their children’s bags, which we appreciate. It means that nothing stops us from running around and learning in the sunshine!
Some of our children have shown a particular interest in different occupations recently, which has led to discussions and activities based on doctors and pharmacists. We are very grateful for the strong relationships we have built with our parents and our community, as we were lucky to visit Sefton Pharmacy this month, where Cyril and Daniel’s dad, Hany, works. All the children had a fantastic time and were particularly excited about travelling with their educators. We pointed out all the road safety signs on the way, and remembered to ‘look both ways’ before crossing the road. The children were all so well behaved and were very interested in seeing and touching the products shown to us by the Pharmacist Holly.
We are SO proud of the way our children behaved on the excursion. Each and every child listened to instructions and behaved extremely well. There will definitely be more excursions to look forward to in the future!

Our Parent Information Room
In refurbishing our entrance way, we have also given our Parent Information Room a mini renovation of its own. This is where we welcome all parents to pop in from time to time and get to know a bit more about what our centre does.
Information about the new national learning framework that we follow is displayed here, the “Early Years Learning Framework”, as well as our centre policies and procedures. By flicking through these policies, we believe you will understand more about the health, hygiene, safety and education policies we stand by.
It is very important to us here at Widgets, that we support our families and their needs. For this reason, our Parent Information Room is overflowing with pamphlets, brochures, and folders of information on an array of topics such as dental health, family support, speech pathology, the environment and nursery safety. If you are unable to locate something specific, please ask one of our friendly educators and we will provide you with the information and support you are seeking.
This room is open all the time, and exists for our families, so please pop in when you find an opportunity.
